When it comes to hygiene and cosmetic products, using natural ones are always the wise choice. But how do you really know if all those fancy soap bars pilled up in your local supermarket are as natural as they claim to be? How do you know that at least a bit of artificial preservatives or coagulator agents are not added? The answer is you can’t. That is the very reason why you should consider producing your own homemade soap using some of the following homemade soap recipes.

Recipe One – coconut and olive soap for smoother, stretch-mark and sun-burns free skin

All you will need are some virgin olive and coconut oil, melted tallow and heaping Lyle. The Lyle is used as the base of the soap that makes cutting off the soap into bars easier. All you have to do is mix the ingredients well, heat them in a non-reactive bowl in the microwave, allow the soap to set, cut it off and use it. The process is very simple; however, the soap doesn’t last for over a month.

Recipe Two – creamy bath bar for subtle, moisturised skin

To make this fragrant homemade soap, you will need pure white unscented soap, water, powdered milk, almond oil, fragrance oil of your choice and peach, lemon or apple fragrance if you prefer. The process is the same as above. You must grate all the ingredients, mix them together and repeat the heating, cooling and cutting process as above.

Recipe Three - Vanilla and Choc soap for delicious, revitalised skin

Yes, it is vanilla and chocolate essence we are talking about! You will need some Castile soap or colourless, pure soap, water, vanilla fragrance oil or sugarless chocolates. The process of production is the same as above and you may add a drop or two of almond essence if you please.

Recipe Four – Gelled soap for deep cleansing

If you want your bar of homemade soap to do better that just help you wash up, you should try making some gelled soap or gelled body wash with exfoliators that will help you remove your dead skin and reveal smooth, fresh skin immediately. You will need flakes of grated pure soap and a teaspoon or two of glycerine. You must add the ingredients together and mix with water. To this mixture you may add any fragrances and exfoliators of your choice such as flecks of mineral salts, ground sandalwood, ground almonds, etc.

When trying out the above recipes you must keep in mind to always use clean bowls and mixers, distilled water (not water out of the faucet), clean your hands very well before handling any ingredients, keep them in the oven for no more than 10 minutes and make only a small quantity at a given time. The fresher your homemade soap is, the better it will be in performing its job.
